Vivian & Alex's Story

From Egg Hobbyist to Creator of Couture Egg Art Collectibles

In the 1980s Vivian Tullos, my life partner, found a second hand book on decorating goose eggs. At the time I had a variety of feathered foul wandering my homestead. Vivian put the two together and decided we could decorate eggs as a hobby and at the same time use up some of my excess duck, chicken, goose, and peacock eggs. An engineer with a restless mind, I only hobbied for a couple years before I realized the potential of our egg art to become true collector eggs.

In 1991 Vivian and I attended a Mardi Gras Ball, as is the custom in south Louisiana. And, as I like to do, I took up a position to watch the ladies arriving, dressed in their beautiful ball gowns. I was struck by the contrast between the exquisite beauty of the gowns and the stark dullness of the beaded evening bags meant to accessorize them. Perhaps it was all that egg art I’d been filling my home with over the years, but I was suddenly inspired: why not combine my love of egg artistry with high fashion?

And so I smoothed out my bar napkin and designed my first egg purse. The rest is history!

Over the years, we have added many other lines to our inventory to complement the purses. Yet we remain dedicated to the marriage of art and engineering, allowing us to constantly innovate and improve. Today the name Vivian Alexander is synonymous with both the egg purse and fine egg art collectibles hand crafted in the Fabergé tradition.

In true southern fashion, we delight in hearing from our clients and Fabergé enthusiasts alike. Please contact us with your questions, comments and product inquiries. We would love to hear from you!
