Easter Ornament 2011

The Vivian Alexander 2011 Easter Ornament is a veritable spring garden ready to burst into bloom. 

Three flower buds in shades of lavender, apricot and pink are separated by vining tendrils with tiny green leaves. 

The buds themselves each have two larger leaves that encircle the ornament and divide the translucent sky blue background from the grassy green below.

 In total, there are 9 different enamel colors, 4 pearlescent and 5 translucent and 11 colors of crystals on this delightful ornament that symbolizes Spring and the renewal of life.

 This Vivian Alexander piece is the sixth Easter Ornament in a series that started with Easter 2005. As with all of Vivian Alexander’s ornaments this one has a base of fine silver (.999).It is embellished with Swarovski crystals in nine different pastel colors, a record for Vivian Alexander Easter Ornaments.

This little beauty is two and three fourths inches tall and one and three fourths inches in diameter. As are all of the Vivian Alexander ornaments the fine silver shell has been engine turned (beneath the translucent enamel) to give the whole piece an inner glow that can be achieved no other way.
