Greetings!
We hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are ready to start a great new year. Exciting things are happening here at Vivian Alexander; we are revamping our website, creating new silver pieces every day and have just released our 2010 MARDI GRAS ORNAMENT! We tried a little something different this year using purple and green sparkle enamel and free-flowing strands of beads. A gold-plated banner encircles the ornament and features what everybody yells on Fat Tuesday, "Throw me somethin' mister!"

Minaudiere Created for Louisiana Organ

Late last year, we were asked to create something very special to honor the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency's 2010 Floragraph, Lee John Davis, whose likeness adorned the 2010 Donate Life Float in the 121st Tournament of Roses Parade. The Phoenix Minaudiere was created to mimic the float's theme, the Mythical Phoenix. The Mythical Phoenix symbolizes "new life rising from the ashes" and the egg's aqua blue color symbolizes "emotional healing". The purse was auctioned at the Rose Parade/Donate Life gala and the proceeds will help fund organ and tissue donation education. We wanted to take this opportunity to say, "congratulations" to Donate Life's Mythical Phoenix for winning both the Tournament of Roses Theme Award and America's Viewers Choice Award. We encourage everyone to DONATE LIFE.

Dearest friends of Vivian Alexander, our long-time, beloved mascot Hugo has gone to the Big Doghouse in the Sky. He passed away a few days before Christmas. The gallery will never be the same without him. Please keep him and us in your thoughts and prayers.
