Chanticleer, or Rooster in French, defines this pin. The piece is taken from the famous Chanticleer Clock by Vivian Alexander, which in turn was taken from the even more famous Imperial Chanticleer Clock that was in the world renown Faberge Collection of Forbes. The brooch is a profile of this piece and is made of 24k gold plating over pewter. Fully colored with the extensive enamel palette of the Vivian Alexander Studio, and embellished with Austrian crystals. The reverse carries the Vivian Alexander copyright.
On the Chanticleer sculpture by Vivian Alexander, turn the knurled knob and the filigree top pops open and the rooster emerges to greet the hour.
