Lilies of the Valley Basket
The original sculpture, created in 1896 by Fabergé, is considered the masterpiece of his floral collection. The original piece is included in the Matilda Gray Collection on indefinite loan to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Museum maintains that the Lilies of the Valley Basket is the most important Fabergé creation currently in the United States.
The Vivian Alexander LOV Basket is a dazzling display of artistic richness. Two years in the making, ours is created from a richly enameled, 18k gold plated basket and covered by a golden field of closely cropped moss. Rising from this palette are 15 gold stems, topped with cultured pearls nestled in gold and crystal rondels. The flowers rise among enameled nephrite leaves, shaped and marked by a technique developed in our Studio especially for this sculpture. The underside inscription is the classic Vivian Alexander logo in recessed gold.
